If you can't beat them...

Solace Day 8.

Homeward bound.  We are supposed to be off the boat by 9:30 to allow time for the valet to be done and anything the engine/boat needs in the way of repairs, tweeking etc.  We were just lifting the last of the gear on to the well deck when the Valet turned up.  Fortunately she was able to work on the boat next door first.

Knowing driving days don't leave many chances for blipping so I always take shots of the marina as a safeguard.  So today you get a view from the stern of Solace looking down towards the service mooring.  The silver boxes to the right of the building are the pump-out machine and diesel pump.

The run back was trouble form apart from the flat tyre three miles from Kanyl's house.  We called the RAC, I was surprised the man insisted I drive the vehicle on a flat tyre quite a distance before he changed the wheel.

Note.  This is a back blip but I want to record follow up.  Today 1/4/25 we took the car in to our tyre people.  The lad took the wheel off and commented on how much tread was left but the tyre wall was clearly damaged.  He asked what make the tyre was and the reply was "whatever you fitted".  He called over another slightly older lad who stuck a finger into the tread and said 6mm discount.  It turns out their tyres carry a warranty so we ended up with a new tyre and approaching an 80% discount.  The discount varies according to the wear on the tyre.
