If you can't beat them...

Solace Day 7.

We had arrived back at the marina a day early.  This was because we turned at Autherley Junction.  You can't just turn a 57 foot narrowboat anywhere, you need quite a lot of space.  So at intervals along the canal there are "winding holes".  The next winding holes were too far away to make return to the marina on time leisurely.

Because of the early turn we had planned a day on land.  Just down the road from the marina is the HQ of Staffordshire Wildlife Trust with a little reserve.  So that was the morning taken care of.  Right beside the reserve is a garden centre, so in there for lunch followed by our usual wander round at any garden centre.

I was starting to think I would have had a week on Solace with no Heron photo of a Heron.  The reserve is good, obviously for shots but no Heron.  Just as we were nearing the end of our wander a Heron arrived, landed and was immediately chased away by a Canada Goose.  I managed to get the blip as it flew away.
