Sunset walk on the beach
Monday
We continued our journey today down to Gulf Shores Alabama. This was our first trip to Alabama, other than a day trip to Mobile years ago, from Pensacola Florida, where we were spending a Spring Break with our kids. We’ve been to Florida many times, so this time we decided to have a change, and cross another state off our list! The first part of our journey was grey and wet, but it gradually improved, and by the time we arrived at our destination late afternoon, the skies had cleared and it was beautiful and sunny. I say above we were heading to Gulf Shores, but our Air BnB is actually west of Gulf Shores and closer to Fort Morgan, which lies at the end of the long spit of land. From there you can take a ferry across the entrance to the large Mobile Bay to Dauphin Island. Our unit is on the 6th floor of a building right on the coast. There is a boardwalk across the dunes, and then you are on the beach. (See extra collage of our view, and a few nice touches around the apartment. We unloaded our stuff, had a cup of tea, then went for a sunset walk on the beach which was beautiful. Since we hadn’t had chance to do a shop yet, we went out to eat
