Walking to Fareshare, April 1st
Welcome to St Judes, a deprived inner city area where Fareshare is based. There are several typical Bristol things in this shot: a cyclist, red traffic lights ( always!), an entry to a 20mph zone ( of which I’m a big fan), a tower block of course, a wonderful old tree, and the less-often-seen social housing, painted in nice colours. I thought (even) this little corner looked good in the early morning sunshine.
When I arrived, the kitchen, where the volunteers gather before the morning meeting, was already full. I was introduced to a new volunteer driver, whom I welcomed with ’oh that’s wonderful we need some more drivers’ when everyone burst out laughing, as it was actually the National chairperson of Fareshare visiting. He could equally have been a driver though. So I was the April fool:-)) He was very nice too, and was involved in showing round some of the ‘big’ donors.
This morning I mostly played the Allergies on the warehouse sound system. Bristol musicians. If you like funk and feeling happy I recommend them.
