Sunrise at 6:42
I didn’t think my day could get better after making it down to the beach in time for a spectacular sunrise at 6:42am. It was the most glorious vibrant dawn with a huge red rising sun throwing a giant red sunbeam across the water. Had I not been fIoating like a cork on the sunbeam I would have taken a photograph of the big red ball of fire.
I had the sea and the sunbeam to myself for a time before 4 other early dippers arrived to share the moment.
But my day did indeed get better when I met up with Blethers and John for a Söderberg brunch of meatballs and eggs with chilli jam on sourdough toast. Then it was back for coffee and ‘afters’ in the Dower House. We sat out on the patio roasting in a hot sun using Tilley hats and baseball caps to ward off any burning, but we eventually gave in and retreated indoors to the coolth to continue where we left off outside.
Such good company with friends is a joy and the summery weather was a bonus.
