Sun, Sea and Sangria……. Not
I was down at the beach again this morning for more sun, sea and sangria. Unfortunately only the sea was in evidence today-it was a chilly , rather misty start to the day with no evidence of the full sun motifs galloping over every hour on my phone from dawn to dusk. It was disappointing not to have a sunbeam to swim along but I did have the company of three BlueTits . I took this blip of the Cowgate as I crossed George IV Bridge on my walk down to the bus stop.
Eventually about noon the sun broke through the clouds and sunshine and warmth arrived, but not the Sangria. I did however venture to the onsite Sainsbury’s to buy a bottle of cider and some tonic water. Carrying them home in my bag I felt like the iconic old woman with her disguised bottle of gin in her shopper.
I don’t need to buy gin, I have a cupboard of the stuff which will last me a lifetime at the rate I’m going.
I spent some time this afternoon repotting Princess the avocado plant. Her roots had grown out of the foot
of her pot and and she needed something a lot bigger so I had to cut it off to give her freedom in the new one.
. She is some girl, big, butch and strong. Her little brother Pea is doing ok but he is lagging behind her quite considerably. Soon she will take over the house and then what shall I do? Unfortunately, outside is not an option
The sun is definitely over the yard arm which sees me on the patio with a tumbler of cider watching the wild life over the railings.
