Iris lutescens
Seen at the Derby AGS group meeting this evening. A perfect miniature species of bearded iris about four inches tall. A great evening out, the talk went very well and people were enthusiastic about my pottery too. Two AGS friends took me for a meal beforehand and there was another old friend at the meeting too. A very lively and enthusiastic group, many nice plants on show and a host of interesting things grown by members on sale. I was tempted and bought two, both plants I used to grow in Norfolk but no longer have in Wales.
Earlier after a slow start to the day I had taken Ruth to a place just north of Birmingham that sells recycled timber. An Aladdin's Cave for Ruth who loves making things from wood. I left there heading to Derby with six lengths of wood in my car for a project she has planned while a support worker met us there and took her back home.
