Magnolia soulangeana bud.

During our week on Solace we saw many magnificent Magnolias both Soulangeana and Stellata.  This reminded me of my attempt to follow the buds on ours through to flowers.  My first shot of the year is here.

As you can see from this shot ours are well behind the ones we saw in Staffordshire.  It may be because the tree is on the north side of the house or it may be because we are a lot further north and at 1000 feet  Probably a combination of both.
