Tulip "Vampire"
Our usual coffee and cake garden centre visit with Kanyl. Now spring is here there are many more colourful blip opportunities in the garden centres. I took shots varying from catkins on a "Kilmarnock Willow, through both types of magnolia ending up with tulips, and many things in between.
It seems Vampire belongs to a group of tulips known as Triumph. They are said ti be mid season flowering. This shows how much garden centres bring plants on before sale. Out in gardens early season Tulips aren't really in flower round here. I wonder if many customers buy plants and are then puzzled in following years as to why the flower so much later than when they first bought them.
