Invasion

The terracotta pots holding my miniature apple trees have been badly frost damaged ... digging from cats or foxes have not helped(any tips on how to stop this welcome!)  So today it was time for a somewhat expensive trip to the local garden centre.

Afterwards, I headed 15mins or so down the road to Virginia Water for a coffee and stroll round the top end of the lake.  These plants were spotted as I headed back towards the car. I believe they are American Skunk Cabbage which according to the RHS advice are an invasive, non-native species to the UK and banned from sale. They are also supposed to have an unpleasant scent, though I couldn't get close enough to smell these.  Pity really, as they are a fairly attractive plant.
