Hopping about.

A short walk along the River Eamont today. A Heron was scouting down the river, I was tempted to go into stalking mode but thought I'd continue up river.. Spotted my first Small Tortoiseshell of the year then Grey and Pied Wagtails (extras). My star of the show was a Mallard looking over his shoulder and waving a foot in my general direction, I wasn't sure if this was a cheery wave or a sod off sort of wave, he paddled off shortly afterwards so I suppose t was the latter.
