Today's the day

Today's the day  . . . . . . . to draw a veil

It all started so well.

The men from the Council came and set up special traffic lights on the road outside our house - just so that the men from BT Openreach could come and fix a special fibre cable from the nearest telegraph pole across the road - to us (see extra).  It was very clever because they just somehow attach it to the old copper wire and pull it over. Then, the fibre one was connected up to the new router - and hey presto - we went from a broadband speed of about 17 mbps to something approaching 150 mbps.  That was the theory, at any rate.

I'm just going to draw a veil over the rest of the day because it went from bad to worse.   The WiFi did work - but only in a small radius of the router - and not all the time.  That meant the rest of the Sky package that we have for TV - didn't work at all.

After a couple of hours on the telephone to a Sky engineer (located somewhere far distant I suspect) who had me doing unspeakably complicated things with routers, mini-boxes, boosters and televisions - I'd had quite enough.  Suffice to say - we no longer have a contract with Sky.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a much better day . . . . . . . . . ?!
