All Spruced Up
I bought this "vintage" Le Creuset kettle home from the boat to see if I could spruce it up a bit. Not least because the lid would not come off and I could hear the limescale rattling around in the bottom. I had to be careful as one cannot use descaler on a painted kettle as it takes the paint off along with the limescale. Which is not ideal. So following instructions from the voice activated assistant, i filled it with 50/50 white vinegar and water and simmered it gently for 20 minutes. Surprisingly effective, I managed to get the lid off and then scrubbed off most of the limescale. The lid will now open and close although there is quite a bit of rust which needs some other remedy. On another day...
