The effects of sitting on the roster, unsupported and dangling my feet for three hours led to aches that prevented sleep for hours last night and it was after 7 before I woke and well after 8 before I really came to and able to get up. So no swim this morning.
Typically the haar was in, well we'd had three nice days! Did some laundry and a had a long chat with the brand new father next door on the way back from feeding the cats. Conor, a planned delivery, was born yesterday afternoon and, I think, got home later this afternoon. E has spent most of the 2 days in the hospital. So different from my day when no paternity leave made that impossible and therefore not 'the thing'.
After some admin and hanging out washing, which desire two spins was still sopping, met E for our visit to The Colourists at The Dovecot. A really good exhibition (method acting?) complementing last year's Lavery and Van Gogh. By the time we came out the haar was lifting and we had a lovely lunch in the Festival Café (profiting from my member's discount) and moaned about sisters!
It was half 2 before I got home after saying au revoir to E who returns to France tomorrow for the summer. Delivered the card next door and then to the garden, now in full sun. Cut the grass, gave the barge board another coat of cuprinol, sorted the bees, found half of the missing bee (I wonder if a magpie took the rest), made sure Willow didn't bring in the mouse, weeded and tidied some clematis. In between messaged #1. They are calling in Port Dickson and he was sharing his frustration with Amelia's friend (from her party) whose family and there too and the boy's unruly behaviour. Made me think I may have to watch Adolescence at some point, maybe not.
By 6 the sun was getting low and I was getting tired. Fed cats, made the bed and tea and watched the Ch4 news in the front eating my chicken and veg. It looked like the new family are home.
Once again, just after 8 I had to admit defeat and go upstairs. I have minutes to amend and things to check for tomorrow but sleep seems to be the priority.
