The Director - Desire Paths

Today was all about the first performance of 'Desire Paths'.  To begin with I didn't swim.  I was awake, but too tired.  Then I did some Apex admin and welcomed the IMMS engineer.  Took a while but we found the box!

There was a lot of haar but it was clearing and there was sun, though not as bright as earlier this week. Walked down to Margiotta for some rolls, booked Opera Queensland's Eurydice and Orpheus at the EIF and thought about sitting in the garden but eventually decided to go into town and have something to eat before the dress.  Didn't realise that Shakespeare's was shut and ended up having an ok (but not as good as B-Lab) pizza in Frizzante.

Then to the rehearsal.  It all seemed to go ok and it was good to see the Tuesday group.  There were a few glitches, but that's why you have dress rehearsals.  I went out, briefly, at the dinner break.  The sunshine in Liberton had disappeared by the time I got to the city centre in the afternoon and by late afternoon it was Baltic outside.  Did a couple of scene rehearsals and then it was time to start.

We were part of the audience for the first half and then it was us.  I was pleased with how it went.  My scene got laughs and P and I remembered all our words (in more or less the right order) in the second scene.  And then before we knew it was bows and applause and I was off down to the West End in the chill to get the #37 home.

Luckily I'd put the heating and had some more snacky food, booked the red Hot Chilli Pipers at the Usher Hall and Wild Rose for Hannah and me.  So much theatre!

Debi is our wonderful Director, doing the notes and fixes after the dress.
