My day

Wynne Prize

I went to the Library to take back The Hush (which is a fantastic thriller and worth reading) and collect another book by the same author.

The Art Gallery is in the same building so I popped in as the finalists of the Wynne Prize were on exhibition. This is one of the oldest art prizes in Australia and the winner receives $50,000. I really liked a lot of the work and these were my favourites. The one at the top is of the area around the original Alice spring (the town is named after it) by Thea Anamara Perkins. LHS is by Simon Hogan and the other by Zaachariaha Fielding. It is huge about 4 metres tall. I did enjoy my quick visit.

I had a few other things to do including going to the health fund office. It is across the road from Aldi but I chose to drive over as I didn’t want to walk that far. Must be time for that new hip.

Last night I sat up until I finished my thriller. I couldn’t go to bed worrying about the lovely people caught up in the nightmare, best book I have read for ages. When I went to bed I checked my messages and had to laugh out loud about President T putting a tariff on Norfolk Island ( a tiny island part of Australia) wrecking my brain to try and work out what on earth they export to the US. If you stand in the middle of the island you can see ocean all around. Hardly a threat. Another was to Heard and McDonald Islands, 2 uninhabited Australian islands half way between Madagascar and Antarctica. They are only inhabited by penguins and birds. The third is the British Indian Ocean Territory where there are no residents except personnel from the US and UK where they have a joint military base. Nuts. I wonder if anyone made much money from their shares today.

Weekend coming up. Have a good one everyone.
