“This land is your land, this land is my land”

I think Woody Guthrie would be appalled at hearing the sentiments he expressed so eloquently, turned into foreign policy.

But why am I surprised? The entire history of humankind is based on envy. Wanting what other people have.  Green (with envy) Land.

We’ve just seen the new Bob Dylan film and enjoyed it immensely. We both let out shouts and cheers as “the times they are a-changin”  - in black and white - took us back to 1964.

Anniemay sang along to “your sons and your daughters are beyond your command” - a response to her parents telling her “you’re not going out looking like that…”.  But she did.  Of course.

For me, it was “and don't criticize what you can't understand”

In case anyone thinks we were being noisy in the cinema, we were watching it at home. We appreciate being able to pause a long film for comfort breaks.

We truly believed that we could - and should - change the world. Perhaps we did for awhile.
