Suzuka - Day 2
So Day 2... train from Nagoya to Shiroku at 7.37, queue for the shuttle buses were very lengthy but queues snaked around car parks and streets but considering that, it felt quick. I decided to walk around the track most of the day, stopping at various grandstands, the Esses (where the track wiggles at high speed) looked amazing and I stayed there for Practice 1 and then continued on around. It was great to see so many corners I've seen loads of times on TV but in situ along with the others.
For Practice 2 I sat in the main straight grandstand but there were 4 red flags due to a crash, a beached Aston Martin and 2 fires, so don't think the drivers will be happy losing all that practice time.
At 6pm I had another experience event booked, so we were taken through to the Paddock Club, served free beers, and a 4 mini-course while listening/watching various F1 personalities chat. Up until this point, it wasn't clear how we'd get back to the station, but they surprised us by saying buses were laid on for us, fandabbydozy!
A great day, eventually worked out I can listen to BBC radio commentary via a VPN on my phone... fingers crossed cos the actual racing starts tomorrow.
