a lifetime burning

Brilliant

Cathy's due back from her trip away this evening.

I've been busy outdoors (taking advantage of the good weather) to jet wash the patio slabs, clean the garden furniture and sort out the barbecue.  The barbecue lives under a protective cover most of the time, which is entirely necessary because the birds seem to like to poop all over it for some reason.  So giving the cover a thorough clean at this time of year is highly advisable, before using the barbecue in anger.

I wonder how long it will take her to notice the changes - they're pretty obvious as the patio has gone from a sort of brownish grey to a more pleasing pale soft cream colour.  My guess is that the first thing she will want to do when she gets back is to race out and water her precious plants as it's been warm today.  So the odds are that I will be in the good books :-)

In the meantime I've done no photography today - so the best I can do is give you this shot of a Fawn-breasted Brilliant from the recent Ecuador trip.
