Inside a Lily
From time to time I tune into talks sponsored by My Photo Club. Noted photographers share their experiences and wisdom. Last night, the speaker was Canadian Judy Hancock Holland who talked about black and white photography, the difference between high and low key photography and how to achieve the effects in post processing. It helps a great deal if your chosen subject is minimalist, elegant and not strongly coloured to begin with.
This is a bright orange lily, part of the bunch of flowers the boys bought me for Mothers' Day. It's bloomed beautifully. See the original in the Extras. The shot was taken with macro rings.
Judy does virtually all of her post processing in Lightroom so today, I resolved to do the same.
I'm going to choose a different subject another time.
Len and I are both suffering the after effects of yesterday's Covid jab. Aching arms, fatigue and general cussedness.
