Joe Cool?

This wasn't exactly the sort of image I thought I would be posting as my main blip today. 

We've been to Batsford Arboretum to renew our memberships so I thought I would maybe get something nice for Flower Friday. Almost the first pic I got, some crown imperials ( I looked them up) , has been relegated to an extra. We also saw some nice butterflies (orange tips and a brimstone) but they were too quick for me. We did see a lovely wren though, and I managed to get a shot, not great because I only had the 90mm macro lens with me. I might go back with a tripod and better lens and set up by the swamp which is its regular haunt you can see in the second extra. The wren is bottom left.

We saw the dog at Tescos when we stopped on our way home. I couldn't resist it. We had our sunroof open and mrsfb had commented that everyone had their tops down today. You obviously need the right gear to go with that though.

We were thrashed into third place in the battle last night. The other two clubs were only a few points apart, but we were way behind. My two prints only got 17s, there were loads of 20s. I think we only had one. We haven't got the quality of portraits, travel and nature images to win these days. The best bit was the pub afterwards. I had a long chat with the judge which was interesting.

We have another battle on Monday though, so who knows :-)
