No takers

Last Spring we put up a wooden nesting box on a tree trunk, and several nesting pockets like this one, in our laurel hedge at the bottom of the garden and in other bushes. There is good cover from predators but we have been unable to persuade them to set up home here. 

Our desirable residences don’t seem to tick all the birds’ boxes, so to speak, and sadly they remain unoccupied.
