Me and My Shadow

Oh, that this blip was take today, but unfortunately there was no sun, no shadows and no burning back of the haar today, just a wind off the polar ice caps which made the temperature feel like 6°. It was hard to see that the south of England was basking in 20°and wall to wall sunshine. It was back to winter for us on the east coast, those summer clothes that had been brought out from the back of the wardrobe were put back reluctantly and the heating turned on again.

I met up with my Maggie’s gang in the Art College Café after lunch and blethered long enough to find ourselves  locked in when they shut the café doors at 3o’clock. With a cry for help, someone led us out in time for me to make it to my TGIF at the Marriott. There the virtual log fire on the wall, similar to the one in the Dower House, was on to give us the impression of warmth as we quaffed our glasses of wine.
I’m afraid to say the topic of our conversation was weighted heavily towards the actions of the man in the White House. When we wondered, would the Americans who voted him into office wise up and realise what they had done?
