Dupuytren's contracture

The reason I was desperate to get blipping up to date for today is I wanted a before shot of my hand.  Tomorrow I am having a small operation to release the problem.  This shows the way the finger has been draw towards my palm   The extra shows the effect of the contracture on my palm.

Dupuytren's contracture has an unknown cause but tends to run in families and is more common in men than women.  My Dad had the condition so it isn't really a surprise that I have it as well.  People of north european descent are more prone to the condition.

So tomorrow a small operation the four weeks of no driving.  Actually the surgeon said plan for 4 weeks but it may be OK at three,  stiches out at two weeks.
