If you can't beat them...

Sanguinaria canadensis flora plena

I gather this plant is known as Bloodroot because of the colour of the inside of the root.  I have only ever known it as Sanguinaria.  So I have labeled the blip as I have for two reasons.  The first because that is what I know it as, the second is a software idiosyncrasy.  Despite the title box being long you aren't allowed a string of letters anywhere near the length.  So rather than set off to type the common name followed by the scientific name and find it didn't fit I opted for the easy way out.

Kanyl manages to grow this double (flora plena) version very easily, we have tried and they always die.  The flowers appear before the leaves which is just as well as they don't grow anywhere near as large or high as the leaves do.

N.B.  Yesterday I broke the habits of a lifetime (well a bliptime anyway).  Normally when I am behind such has having been away and not posted I put up two, one morning and one night.  However tomorrow I need to be caught up for a blip I want to post on the day.  So I posted three blips.
