Bee at the bar
A large group of us gathered at Front Street this afternoon to drink to Steve on what would have been his 67th birthday. It was so good just to hang out with friends. Mom and I had been planning to meet anyway so it was perfect. She had a good time chatting with some of the people there she hadn't seen in a long time.
Mom and Catherine have been talking about moving into town this summer but it's a very complicated process for a couple of old broads :-) They were hoping that the neighbors would buy and then the move could be leisurely but that's not going to happen. However, the neighbor's have a friend who may be interested in doing a house swap. The one in town is a little more than half what Mom and C's house is worth. There will be some negotiations and lawyers etc... We'll see what happens. The woman is coming out this weekend to see their place.
I will be so excited to have them in town but there is a lot of things to happen. The move will be a huge adjustment after them living out there for more that 40 years.
Also, tomorrow is a huge protest day all over the States and worldwide. Mom, Catherine and their friend Dorothy will join me and hopefully lots of other folks. I'm unsure what the counter protest will be like. I'm going to be safe but I'm a little nervous.
