At the dock
Pilates first thing, last session with the instructor whose classes I've been taking most often since last autumn, just as I'm improving enough to be able to listen more thoroughly to more of the detail in the instructions. Adaptability required.
A cold ENE wind, which got up further in the early afternoon. We walked down to Ocean Terminal. @meles posted earlier in the week that the Spirit of Tasmania IV had moved from the back dock to the Albert Dock Basin, which can be viewed entire from the path at the dock corner of the Whisky Distillery building. For scale, see the car and containters on the dock to the left of the bow ..
Following last week's foiled attempt, we went up to the top floor at the Whisky Distillery, where they were happy to serve us cups of tea at the bar. There is a view over the Albert Dock, but it has the inevitable light reflections, so isn't any better for photographing the ships.
In extra, the view the other way towards the city, over the destruction site that was Debenhams.
The place has an extensive selection of modern whisky, at least 100 different sources arranged alphabetically rather than by origin geography or flavour density or price; the staff were happy to talk about it though they had a rather recent perspective on whisky marketing history .. They were also making shaken cocktails, including locally made gin. Camperdown black porter on tap.
Back by tram.
Thank you all for your interest in my Blipping and your good wishes on yesterday's postbox on a blipday. This is a very positive encouraging place.
