Viking Festival
Late afternoon I went over to see the boat burning at the Sheringham Viking Festival, which I really enjoyed. Mind you, to get good photos I made sure I got a good spot an hour before the burning was due to take place. Even though it was sunny and 11C, an hour and a half of standing still with a cold north easterly wind on my face from over the North Sea was almost too much to bear. I had several photos I was pleased with, but for my collage extra I've shown you four stages of the burning rather than my best photos. The burning of the Viking longship symbolises the end of one's journey and the beginning of a new one - I found it quite poignant.
