The lambs are here

Every year, around this time, we wait for the lambs to be brought down from the paddock beside the hilltop farm to the more distant field beside our house. They started to arrive two days ago, with a second group following yesterday, and when we took J out to see them late this afternoon, they were already a little braver, not quite so closely glued to the ewes and starting to run and jump. It was bight but the wind was gusty and cold, so we didn't stay long. It was good to get a breath of air, albeit accompanied by the nurse, the care assistant and the suctioning machine.
