Long...
………………………........….Exposure
Today we spent a very enjoyable day on a Historical Homes Tour. (See extra photos showing homes we visited. No interior photos were permitted so these are from the street)
This was a fundraising event for the Nelson Tasman Cancer Society. They receive no government funding so they rely on donations to continued their work in the community.
Generous homeowners open their historical homes for public viewing, allowing the Cancer Society to profit from the sale of entry tickets. It’s a fun day and we get to see part on Nelson’s history, with a Devonshire tea taken at leisure along the way in another historic building.
The main photo captures flood waters cascading over the ford in Manuka Street in Nelson, NZ - as a result of recent heavy rain. Usually the concrete base is exposed and driving across is a breeze. Today, the road at this point had the gates across closing the road to vehicles.
Taking long exposure photos on the iPhone kept us occupied for several minutes before we walked across the pedestrian bridge to explore the last house listed on the tour brochure.
