Blossom against Thomson's Tower
Dr Neil's Garden, Duddingston, Edinburgh
The octagonal tower, built to house curling stones, looked striking in bright yellow.
J and I walked through Holyrood Park via St Margaret's Loch and Dunsapie Loch before going down the steps to Duddingston. We thought we'd walk back the low road, however plans were scuppered because it was closed and we had to climb back up all the steps! Before that we enjoyed a wander in the garden and had a long sit on a bench in the sunshine, watching geese, swans, wrens and a buzzard. There was at least one red admiral flitting about the place as well. A cup of tea / coffee, as the cafe has reopened for the season, before the climb back out of the village and we completed the loop around Queen's Drive before saying farewell for the day.
