First butterfly

I can’t believe how long this spell of wonderful weather is lasting. The sunshine brought out the first butterfly in our garden. Judging from the state of its wings and relatively dull colours, it’s looks like this Peacock Butterfly was probably around last summer and has hibernated over winter. It still looks lovely  as a mature butterfly. It seems to be enjoying the new gravel path as a place to rest.
