Warm and not quite so cold

After a pretty terrible night of broken sleep and periodic hauling up of throaty ugh, I had a pretty terrible morning of trying and failing to concentrate on things.  I made a flask of tea with honey and ginger and – as I quickly discovered – much too much lemon.  I had hot chocolate instead.

After sitting out in glorious sunshine at lunchtime and reading my book, I had some Luzocade and then a cup of hot Lemsip and felt quite a bit better about the whole thing.  I got my second wind and ended up doing an extra hour.

The sun was still out by then, so I cycled to the shops for bits and pieces, and getting lots of reductions.  I came back via the big pond, looking for frogspawn but I couldn't see any.  Even if the frogs aren't making babies, it sure looks like the swans are having another go.  I stood in the sunshine for a bit, and then rode home to make tea and read more of my book, in which our ex-Siberia cycle tourer is finding his feet and is now in Papua New Guinea, where my cousin Anne comes from.
