A DAY in DC
We arrived on Friday to my sister and brother in law and nephews, here in Leesburg, Washington.
Yesterday- Sunday- we drove into the city. Not what I expected really, a smallish, very walkable town centre. I was mightily underwhelmed by The White House BTW ! It's not imposing at all and I honestly would have walked past it.
There was a small demo, with a very determined group of folks making as much noise as they could with whistles, pans and loudspeakers. And a flag bearing a rather impressively blunt message to The President. Iron fences and tents were still standing from the massive demo the previous day.
I loved this placard I found discarded on the ground. Made me think of my mum - she was born in the US. She would have had a lot to say right now and would have liked the YOU part of this sign.
