City break
This is somewhere I've wanted to visit for a while.
Politics usually passes me by but an article Rich showed me about neurodiversity highlighted Mhairi Black who's switched from politics (being the youngest MP elected to the House of Commons in recent times) to comedy. We booked the tickets a couple of months ago without reading much more - concluding if you can stand up in parliament, you can do stand-up on stage. We watched her in Paisley, her home town and it was fantastic - almost as dark and depressing as it was funny. She's definitely done her time, I'd say!
So, in the day time, we toured ourselves around Glasgow's west side - the University, Hunterian Museum, Kelvingrove Museum and an unexpected organ recital, the tube round to the Tall Ship Glenlee and a bus back to Finnieston where we had a delicious late lunch in a cute cafe called The Hidden Lane Tea Room.
Maybe not classic Glasgow weather but we weren't complaining at wall-to-wall sunshine!
