Wound up in Wexford

Butterfly

I actually saw a real butterfly today - the first one I've seen this year.  This is the last of 31 blocks of varying sizes made for a sampler quilt called Old Block Quilt - all the blocks are adaptations of old patterns.  I've made all 31, many quite challenging, with curves, Y seams, kinked seams - this block had all three!

Now I face the challenge of deciding how to put them together.

I didn't spend any time in the garden today - apart from a brief foray to take in focus photos of the yellow magnolia (see extra).  W mowed the grass, and made progress in the compost area.  And now he's cooking an adaptation of a Ottolenghi recipe - has to be an adaptation as he's missing some of the many ingredients - but it still seems quite complicated.
