Quod oculus meus videt

Little Egret (Egretta garzetta)

Went out early, in the hope of some mist or fog. There was some low lying mist near to the canal, but it quickly burnt away as the sun started to rise.

I walked around the area where I usually see red deer as I suspect we are coming to the time of year when the hinds will be giving birth, but although I did see some deer, there were no new borns amongst them.

I did come across this bird, a little egret. I saw it last week, but it seems to prefer the areas of water in thick woodland making it difficult to get a clean shot. again, it was in the same area but luckily for me it flew up into the trees and I got this angle where I could see the whole body. Not a great shot, it's noisy and underexposed to control the highlights in the background but I will keep trying.

Some DIY around the house, replacing the silicone sealant behind the sink and a wash hand basin.  The only problem is it make the rest of the sealant look really discoloured. it might be a bigger job than first thought.
