Hill Top Ramblings

I finally managed a proper inspection of the beehives! Two hives are bursting with bees, so I will have to watch out for signs of wanting to swarm, already!
One hive is very weak still and I will keep feeding them and see if f they get going. There’s plenty of pollen out there now, as hay fever sufferers will know, but possible that the nectar flow is less due to the drought we are experiencing.
It was our bee group meeting this evening and we were discussing letting the bees draw out their own wax combs, instead of the expense of giving them bought sheets of wax. I am going to give it a go!
Bonnie went to see the vet this morning, and was given an injection ouch! And some nice, expensive, cans of special food….the vet doesn’t think she has a blockage thankfully, so should improve fairly quickly with her special diet! And lots of cuddles of course!
