Snow day!
I think we got more snow than was forecast. A couple of the meteorologists were saying yesterday that most of the snow would melt as it hit the ground, especially on sidewalks and roadways. They said there would be a light covering on the grass. A light covering is like what we had last week. This is more than that. It is a heavy wet snow that weighs down branches. Fortunately there was no wind with it.
The feeders were busy most of the day. Starlings, blue jays, pigeons, a couple of red winged blackbirds and the gold finches. This male gold finch in the extra is in breeding colors. The northern flicker and the male cardinal passed thru, but did not stop long enough for photos.
I had an appointment at the hospital this morning for an EKG. The appointment was at 9:15. I left early so I would have enough time to get there and find parking. When I checked in it was 8:50 and I was back at the truck at 9:10. I think they must have had a couple of cancellations due to the weather. After I came home I spent the day getting things ready for income tax. That should be finished tomorrow.
I did some telephone interviews this afternoon. Four of them sound good, 2 were ok, one did not read the ad properly, he is still in Ontario and not available till sometime in May. Another one I played phone tag with, and the one time he called back and I was able to answer he hung up right after I said hello. I called right back, but again, there was no answer, it went to voice mail. I talked to Albert tonight and decided that I will hire all 4 of the ones that sound good. Two are students, 2 are out of school. Two have their own transportation, 2 of them take the bus. 2 males, 2 females. It should work out.
The carpenter stayed home today, so there was no noise to bother the cats. Both are sleeping on the sofa now.
