Car Boot Treasures
Miss E came to the car boot sale this morning. She doesn’t usually come with us as she goes climbing at 7.30 on Sundays so Saturday is the only day of the week she can stay in bed as long as she wants. Tomorrow is her birthday so she won’t be going climbing.
So it was a proper family affair - Mr K and me, both the Little Misses, and Nana and Papa!
Miss E has always loved these Tudor Mint pewter dragons and wizards, she has a huge collection. She was sat having coffee with dad and papa when I found these and sent her a picture to see if she’d like them. I thought they might be a bit too big. She came dashing over and loved them. Nana bought them for her for £8 each. As we sat having more coffee later I checked eBay. One sold last week for £175!!!!!!!!!
Was I secretly crying that I could have just bought them, kept quiet and sold them?
Of course I bloody was :-)))))
But I love Miss E and she loves them so that’s much more important!
She clearly has a very valuable collection which is fab.
I went to work after the car boot. Just for change!
I’m not used to working on Saturdays and it was horrendously busy. Non stop! I didn’t get a cup of tea until about noon! It’s great for the shop but I did feel a bit overwhelmed.
It didn’t let up until closing and I was frazzled and made and K come and get me. Walking up the hill would have finished me off!
Miss L spent the day at school rehearsing for Bugsy Malone. They’re trying a new thing where rather than rehearsing periodically weeks before the performance, they’re rehearsing intensively and performing it within the same week. Sounds risky to me!
Today was the first day of rehearsals and they’re going non-stop until dress rehearsal Wednesday and the real thing Thursday, Friday and two performances on Saturday.
We’re going on the Saturday night. Can’t wait!!
