Celebrity Duck

This blue footed whistling duck has become a minor celebrity on social media. He or she is living amongst the more ‘standard’ ducks on a large pond at Par. It’s thought that it must have been a ‘captive’ duck from an ornamental pond. I haven’t heard its whistle. I wonder why it’s called ‘blue footed’ and not ‘blue beaked’.
