Wild sea thrift

I saw Sea Pink, also known as Armeria maritima, in bud along the coastal path today. It is commonly called Thrift too and is a species of flowering plant in the family Plumbaginaceae. It grows in low clumps and sends up long stems that support globes of bright pink flowers.

Thanks for getting Wild Flower Week under way this week Miranda and for so generously hosting.

It's been a glorious sunny Spring day again, although really chilly in the wind.
