CHIFFCHAFF

The birds and some butterflies were really enjoying the warmth of the day, at last, as was I. Chiffchaffs were in full voice, and I saw and heard a blackcap (first extra). The non-biting midges were making the most of it as well (second extra). They may not bite but I probably inhaled quite a few and felt as though I needed to give my hair a good shake afterwards. I hope the rest of the swallows and martins are going to turn up in force soon and start hoovering them up.
