Oxenber Woods

Staying overnight at the Game Cock Inn, Austwick.
Just had a delicious evening meal. Well and truly stuffed!
Eric, the landlord, is from France and so everything as a French twist.
MrC was very pleased to see onion soup on the menu.
I finished with a wonderful Lemon Tart. One of the best I have ever had. Just melted in my mouth.

The main reason for our visit was to walk to Oxenber Woods to see the wild flowers.
They were absolutely full of primroses. Also violets, wood anemones, and my first blue bells and orchids.
A magical place.

The weather today was perfect. Blue sky, sunshine, and not too hot.
Peaceful, just the birds singing. Amazing views. Lambs frolicking in the fields.
Heavenly.

After the walk sat out in the pub garden with a couple of shandys. Met some people from Northwitch with a lovely spaniel, and spent an hour or so just chatting.

I know we will both sleep well tonight.
