Hadestown
Poor Vikram, first full day back and we had a pre planned trip to London with our friends C/J and M/J to see Hadestown. It’s a show that passed me by when it first came out. I like musicals but really only the golden age musicals and Sondheim. I thought it was extremely well done but, a modern retelling of Orpheus and Eurydice it felt in its constant energy a bit bland. Persephone was good.
The day was sunny and clear and I managed two walks one first thing before a call and then one over lunchtime. This gorgeous spring weather is reminding us all of lockdown spring. Cold first thing but then sunny if cool all day. Flowers that are particularly loving it are violets - I always have a lot round here and they are big and flowering strongly , both the purple nad the white. In when springs they look quite sad.
we had an early dinner with the others in Brasserie Zedel which didn’t quite rise to the heights of last week’s Cafe Flo although it certainly echoed it.
