Bonjour Paris - Day 1

One of me rather than by me today. Up early, and through security and on Eurostar to the Gare du Nord. A wander past Notre Dame and then to Saint Sulpice - my pilgrimage to the square where Georges Perec sat for 3 days to attempt to exhaust a place in Paris. Through the Jardin des Luxembourg where we had ice creams. Checked into hotel: a nice Mercure, then onwards to the Tour Montparnasse for a panoramic view of the city. Over to the Cemetery to find the graves of several film directors and Antarctic explorers. Metro down to Opera and to the Galeries Lafayette for a specific gift for my daughter. A meal and a nice beer in a good restaurant near there, then back to Montparnasse and to Carrefour for snacks for the hotel room.
