Peacock
Today has been the warmest day of the year so far, with the temperature reaching about 19-20 degrees, with no breeze, so we were able to go out for a walk for the first time without wearing a coat.
Having struggled to get to the top of our road because of his back pain, Smithers opted to sit on a bench on the Green while I continued on to deliver a birthday card to a friend, then we met up again on my return and walked home together. I saw several butterflies darting about hopefully, but they were clearly dismayed by the lack of vegetation on which to land since the hedging along Warner’s Path was recently dug up.
I just managed to grab a shot of this Peacock on the parched ground before he flew off again in a vain search for some greenery.
