Willow catkins
Today I made a silver wedding card to send to my Goddaughter E, having already made one a few days ago for her parents to send her. This always poses a bit of a problem for me because it means I have to ensure that the designs are completely different!
As it happens, I produced the invitations and orders of service for E’s wedding in 2000, for which the lovely Smithers (with his print industry hat on) ordered some beautiful hammered gold card for me to be used as a border on the front cover. Being the thoughtful man he is, he also added a good supply of silver hammered card to the order as well, knowing how useful it would be.
And now, 25 years later, I still have stocks of both the silver and the gold card, and I was delighted to be able to use some of the silver card for E’s silver wedding anniversary!
This afternoon Smithers and I walked up to the Post Office to post the card, and the willow catkins beside the so-called Potato Pond on the High Road were looking lovely in the sunshine.
