Orange-Tip (male)

This butterfly is a male orangetip, Anthocharis cardamines.


I saw 3 males and 2 females this afternoon, along with a peacock.  All beside Kinghorn Loch.


The female of the species lacks the orange tips and one can be seen in my 'extra; for today.

Ooops!  Mea Culpa!  That is not a female orange-tip in the 'extra' It is a green-veined white!  I only realised once I reviewed this post.
It was being chased by a male o-t so I just assumed it was a female o-t. 

My 'extra' is therefore a male green-veined white.
