Great Reedmace
This warm sunny weather has caused the heads of reedmace to burst apart and disperse the minute seeds in their thousands.
Reedmace, or to give it its full name, great reedmace, Typha latifolia, is also known as cattail. Some peope also erroneously call it a bulrush. Firstly, it is not a rush, and secondly, there is already a rush that is called bulrush (Scirpus lacustris). Calling this a bulrush just leads to confusion.
